M7 Player Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026 ยท Applies to version 1.0.12M7 Player is an independent browser extension that provides a custom live-stream player on Twitch. This policy describes the information the extension processes to provide that functionality.
Information processed
- Twitch page and stream information: the current channel URL/login, channel links used for navigation or playback prewarming, necessary player-page elements, public broadcast identifiers and start times, HLS playlists, video/audio segments, quality metadata and recognized ad markers.
- Playback interactions: control clicks, player shortcuts, volume, mute, quality, latency, fit, playback speed, picture-in-picture actions and Clip requests. These are processed for immediate player functionality, not recorded as interaction logs.
- Local preferences: enable/disable, preferred quality, low latency, Twitch Adblock, volume, mute and video fit. Twitch's native quality preference is also adjusted locally to select Source.
- Temporary media authorization: anonymous stream-access responses, signed media URLs and playback buffers needed to play Twitch media. M7 does not read viewer Twitch account cookies, passwords or OAuth tokens.
The extension does not collect viewer personal profiles, health data, payment details, chat messages, geolocation, general browsing history or behavioral analytics. It does not access pages outside its Twitch content-script scope. Current Twitch channel information is processed without keeping a persistent viewing history.
Purpose and network requests
This information is used only to provide the integrated Twitch player and its visible playback features. Requests are sent directly over HTTPS to Twitch and its media-delivery infrastructure, including gql.twitch.tv, usher.ttvnw.net, subdomains of ttvnw.net and live-video.net. Selected channel information is included in playback and public-metadata requests. Twitch and delivery servers can receive normal connection information, such as your IP address, as part of serving these requests; M7 does not separately read or store your IP address.
The Clip button opens Twitch's Clip Creator in a separate tab using the broadcast identifier, channel login and playback offset. Twitch handles sign-in, editing, publishing and clip eligibility on that website. Normal browser cookies may be used by Twitch in its own tab; the extension does not extract them. Twitch's own services are governed by Twitch's Privacy Notice.
Storage and retention
Playback preferences are stored in the browser's local extension storage. The native quality preference is stored in Twitch's local website storage. Channel context and media state are held in memory while needed. The background worker may cache signed playback URLs for approximately 30 seconds; expired entries can remain in bounded memory until overwritten or the worker ends. There is no persistent viewing or interaction log. Video buffers are cleared when playback is shut down.
Sharing and limited use
M7 has no developer-operated analytics, tracking, advertising or proxy server. Extension browsing and playback information is not sent to the developer. Data is not sold, used for advertising profiles, or used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Transfers to Twitch and its delivery infrastructure are limited to providing the stated player functionality. The extension's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can disable M7 from its popup, return to Twitch's original player, change preferences or uninstall the extension. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage. To remove the native quality preference or other Twitch site storage, use your browser's site-data controls for Twitch; doing so may also remove unrelated Twitch preferences or sign you out.
Support and changes
If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to send are received through the developer's email provider and used to answer your request. This is separate from automatic extension operation. Avoid sending passwords or account tokens.
